Wagyu Beef & U.S.Beef

Wagyu Beef is a breed of cattle that originally came from Japan. Wagyu is genetically dispositioned to high marbling throughout its meat, which gives it distinguished flavour and texture. If you've never cooked with it before, you'll find some simple but delicious recipes here and here.

Kobe beef is simply Wagyu beef that has been farmed in Kobe, Japan and is technically the same thing. There is much confusion about Wagyu and Kobe but that is the simple answer.

The cattle are fed on a grain diet  for 500 days which helps the marbling process and contributes to the very high cost of this fantastic beef. All Wagyu is graded on the intensity of the marble content within the meat. In the U.K. it ranges from marble score 2 -8. Marble score 8 is pretty much the highest and most expensive geade in the U.K. and it comes highly recommended!

U.S. Beef is recognised worldwide for its quality and flavour. Mainly produced from Angus and cross-breed cattle, U.S. beef is consistently high quality - The cattle are fed a rich grain diet for the last 100 days of their life which helps enhance the marbling content to produce this outstanding beef.

To make the most of these fabulous cuts, don't forget to use the best seasonings; you can find high quality sea salt and the finest peppercorns in our grocery.
