Finefoodspecialist.co.uk understands that your privacy is important. We understand that you have a right to know how information about you is utilised and shared. Because we value your custom and the trust that you have put into our company, our Privacy Policy sets forth how we work to protect your interests whilst you do business with us. The purpose of our gathering any personal data when you visit our website is to make your experience as satisfactory as possible over time, and we will keep your data on file to this end for a maximum of 5 years after which, if you show no interest or activity, your data will be deleted.  Our legitimate basis for gathering personal data is consent: by accessing this website, you agree and consent to receive electronic communications from the owners and operators of this website and their agents; by accepting our Terms & Conditions whilst completing a purchase, or by opting-in to our marketing newsletter, you give your consent for us to gather and use certain personal data as outlined in this Privacy Policy.  You have the right to request at any time a full disclosure of the information we hold about you, or an extraction thereof in a portable format.  You have the right to request, at any time, that we delete any such information from our records if you no longer wish us to hold it for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. We obtain information from four primary sources:


1. Information that you provide.

When you voluntarily enter onto our website, we receive and store information provided by you. Additionally, if while visiting our website you elect to provide us with other information about you, we will receive and store that information as well. Any information that we receive from you and subsequently store is used for the sole purpose of customising future visits by you, to respond to your requests and to communicate with you. In short, any information we collect is maintained by us to make your transactions with us easier and more satisfactory.


2. Information retained automatically.

There are certain instances when we retain certain types of information automatically. We gather this information automatically through your specific interactions with our website. Like many other websites, we utilise ‘cookies’, which are small nuggets of data given to your web browser by our website, which remember information about you, eg your preferences.  There are certain tools or utilities that allow you browse websites anonymously. If you do elect to utilise such tools or utilities, we will not be able to provide you with a targeted or personalised experience when you visit our website. Indeed, if you do have ‘cookies’ disabled in your browser settings, there are some websites that you will not be able to access at all.

LAST_CATEGORY The last category you visited.
LAST_PRODUCT The most recent product you have viewed.
NEWMESSAGE Indicates whether a new message has been received.
NO_CACHE Indicates whether it is allowed to use cache.
PERSISTENT_SHOPPING_CART A link to information about your cart and viewing history if you have asked the site.
POLL The ID of any polls you have recently voted in.
POLLN Information on what polls you have voted on.
RECENTLYCOMPARED The items that you have recently compared.
STF Information on products you have emailed to friends.
STORE The store view or language you have selected.
USER_ALLOWED_SAVE_COOKIE Indicates whether a customer allowed to use cookies.
VIEWED_PRODUCT_IDS The products that you have recently viewed.
WISHLIST An encrypted list of products added to your Wishlist.
WISHLIST_CNT The number of items in your Wishlist.

 


3. Information from email communications.

From time to time we will send you emails regarding products and services offered by, or through, our website. In some instances, we will be electronically notified that you have opened an email sent by us. If you would rather not receive emails from us, please update your preferences or Unsubscribe via the links which we include at the foot of each of our emails.


4. Information from other sources.

In some limited instances we may receive information about you and your shopping, product and service preferences from other sources. This limited information will be added to the account information we maintain on our website. An example of information received from other sources would be information collected by one of our associated vendors.


Website & Information Security

We take every step possible to protect information that you provide to us or that is collected through our website on your behalf. Whenever possible, we use specialised software that encrypts information that you input and transmit to our website.  In order for you to assist us making certain your information is as secure as possible, do not share your password with anyone else. Additionally, if you are utilising a shared computer to access our website, take the time to log off completely after each and every visit to our website.  We store credit card details, which are fully encrypted, and our entire website operates behind the Secure HTTPS protocol as well as a secondary server firewall.


Exchange & Sharing of Information

As a general rule, our company does not share any information we collect regarding our customers. There are some limited instances in which we do share information in order to better assist and serve our customers (these limited instances are detailed in this Privacy Policy immediately below.)  We will never sell any information we collect in regard to our customers at any time.  Any information that we do share is only shared with entities that are subsidiaries of our company, or with entities that we have contractual relations with to provide you with certain products and services. Any such entity must agree to comply with the proscriptions of this Privacy Policy and Statement in advance of receiving any information about you or your product and service preferences.  From time to time, information collected may be shared with the following types of entities (within the parameters outlined herein):


A. Agents
From time to time, we do employ other individuals or companies to perform certain functions. For example, we regularly contract with delivery services such as Royal Mail and DPD. It may be necessary to provide such an entity with information about you in order to further the fulfilment of our own agreement to provide you with products or services.

• Reporting to Fine Food Specialist Ltd on the performance of the advertising programme.

B. Affiliated businesses
In some instances, we do provide products and/or services through affiliated businesses. In these instances, it may be necessary to provide an affiliated business with some information about you in order to further the fulfilment of our own agreement with you.

On rare occasions, we are legally obliged to provide limited information in order to remain in compliance with the law, to protect our rights under the conditions of use we have publicly endorsed, or to protect the safety of our company, its employees, our website users or other individuals.

Mobile Terms of Service

The Fine Food Specialist mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Fine Food Specialist (“Fine Food Specialist”, “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Fine Food Specialist’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Fine Food Specialist through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Fine Food Specialist. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.

 

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt-out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to FineFoodSpe or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Fine Food Specialist mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
