Red dragon fruit is the rare cousin of regular white flesh dragon fruit. The fruit is native to Mexico and Central America but is now grown all over the world. Also called pitaya or strawberry pear, red dragon fruit comes from the Hylocereus cactus plant (also known as the Honolulu queen fruit!).
