With so many types of product available from our online store, we have a smart delivery approach that helps us ensure that when you receive your purchase from Fine Food Specialist, it’s to the standards and in the condition you need to create a culinary wonder in your kitchen.
Let us answer your questions about our delivery and how we make things work best for you.
How do you protect products during delivery?
We use dry ice, ice sheets and thermal packaging to keep your products frozen and/or chilled in transit. We use extra ice sheets and dry ice during warm weather. 95% of our shipments arrive frozen but we can’t guarantee this. However, your products should still be at a very low temperature when you open your box and therefore suitable to put in your freezer. Refreezing is only dangerous if the product has reached 5C. This article and this article explain in more detail the ins and outs of refreezing.
Your order leaves us at 6pm and arrives the following day (normally by 6pm). Less than 1% of our deliveries arrive a day late. Orders are well packaged and can cope with such a delay.
We have included information relevant to the possibility of a day-late delivery in our terms and conditions. However, you can rest assured that this only happens on very rare occasions. If your order has not arrived by 4pm on your chosen delivery day, please call us and we will chase it on your behalf.
What days do you deliver?
We deliver 5 days a week including Saturdays. We don’t deliver on Sundays or on Mondays because we don’t work on the weekends – everybody needs a break!

I live on a remote island, but I love quality food. How long will it take to get my product?
Customers in locations that are hard to ship to will sometimes have a 2-day transit time. If this is applicable to you, when you are buying your product, our website will inform you and remove the next day delivery option.
All our 2-day transit delivery charges are £29.95, and this is applicable to some of Britain and Ireland’s more remote places. The table below provides more information for people who may be wondering if this applies to them.

I live outside of Great Britain and Ireland. Will you deliver to me?
We deliver into Europe daily and offer Express (by air) and Economy (by road) shipping. We use dry ice and ice sheets, and deliver with DHL(Express) and DPD (Economy for limited locations).
Our website accepts orders for delivery to many different countries but in view of customs or logistics issues, we do not guarantee to fulfil every order placed. If we cannot ship your order to a particular destination because it is at risk of not arriving in perfect condition, we will contact you to discuss if you want to take the risk or if you would rather refund.
In terms of costs, the price will depend on what is in your basket and to what destination the consignment is going. You can get a quote by putting the products in your basket, selecting your country via the dropdown menu and filling in your address including your postcode. The website will then give you a quote for the delivery cost.
What’s best for me?
We've designed the delivery system on our website to take lead times, cut off times and destinations, then look at what is in your basket and give out the next available delivery date accordingly. Our system is designed to make sure that we get your products to you in the best condition, and in the shortest time we can.
