Made famous by the restaurant Nobu, this dish has inspired and delighted foodies from all corners of the globe! If you’re new to cooking fish at home, this ready-to-cook black cod fillet is perfect as it is marinated in a miso based-glaze, adding a deliciously sweet and oniony flavour, which caramelizes when cooked. The fillet is from the centre cut of the cod, rather than the tail, which ensures that all the flesh is flaky and soft. Black cod fillets contain high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for a healthy diet. Simply defrost and pop it in the oven – such a simple but amazing dish to serve at a dinner party!
Cooking Instructions:
Preheat the grill to 180°C.
Grill the fish for 8–10 minutes, or until the miso glaze begins to caramelize and turn a golden brown.
Important: Do not attempt to remove the bones when the fish is raw—this can damage the flesh. As the fish cooks it will shrink, at this stage it is easy to remove the bones with tweezers before serving.
Rest the fish by wrapping it in tin foil and placing it on top of the stove to keep warm before serving.
Please note: This product may thaw slightly in transit due to the alcohol content of the miso marinade and typically contains pinbones which should be removed carefully after cooking. The portions will vary and not all fillets will be identical.
