When do you deliver?

Tuesday to Saturday. We don’t deliver Sundays or Mondays - even our team needs a break!

DPD:  Monday – Friday (8am – 8pm) + Saturday options
Royal Mail:  Monday – Saturday (no fixed delivery time)

Do you deliver on Saturdays?

We do!  Receive your Delivery on a Saturday by selecting a Saturday Service in your Cart.

What does 'Next Day' Delivery mean?

Next Day Delivery refers to the next available Delivery Date shown in our Shipping Calendar.  Our Shipping Calendar, available to view on the Cart page, shows the different Shipping Methods available for your order - based on your postcode - along with the Delivery Dates you can choose from.  If it's not actually feasible for us to deliver on the next calendar day (eg, it's a Monday or a public holiday), we will not deliver on that day despite our Next Day Delivery stipulations.

Do you offer Same-Day Delivery in London?

We offer special same-day delivery to selected London postcodes, priced at £30.  Order before 11am Monday-to-Friday for delivery between 2pm - 6pm on the same day (orders placed after 11am will be delivered on the next working day).  Eligible postcodes:

N1, N2, NW1, NW3 E14, EC1, EC2, EC3 SE1, SE5, SE11, SE17, SE24 SW1, SW2, SW3, SW4, SW5, SW6, SW7, SW8, SW9, SW10, SW11, SW12, SW15, SW18, SW19 W1, W2, W4, W5, W8, W11, W12, W14, WC1, WC2

Note: orders to these postcodes that include a Live Lobster will default to this service.

What if I live in a remote area?

Harder-to-reach areas to will require a longer transit time.  If you live in one of the following locations, our Checkout will block the regular Next/Named Day shipping options and will instead offer tailored options and Delivery Dates:

Scottish Lowlands - £14.95 (Saturday £20.95)

Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man (excluding Shetlands) - £27

(DPD outsources deliveries to Shetland, and delivery can take up to 5 days. Subsequently, we cannot provide a DPD service to Shetland at this time.)

Northern Ireland - £23

What if I don't live on the UK mainland?

Due to post-Brexit Customs restrictions on the international transportation of foodstuffs, we are not currently able to offer delivery overseas, including to the Republic of Ireland.

Delivery to Jersey & Guernsey and the UK Channel Islands is charged at a flat rate of £70, and is transported by boat on a 2-3 Day Service.

Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man are served by our 2-3 Day service to remote areas (see above).

Due to its proximity to the mainland, the Isle of Wight is served by our regular mainland Shipping services.

Why does shipping cost so much?

Good question! There are a few reasons. First, we’re limited to a single courier that can safely deliver perishable goods nationwide. That level of specialist service comes at a higher cost. Second, every order is carefully packed by hand using specialist materials to protect chilled, frozen, and ambient items. It takes time, care, and quality packaging to ensure everything arrives in perfect condition.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — on eligible orders. Spend £150 or more and we’ll automatically deduct £12.95 from your shipping cost at checkout. For most standard services (including DPD Next Day / Named Day), this effectively makes delivery free. Some premium, remote, or offshore services may still incur a reduced charge, and this offer can’t be combined with other promotions.

What does “lead time” mean?

Some products aren’t held in stock because they’re imported, artisanal, or made to order. The lead time is how long it takes us to source them before dispatch.  If a product has a lead time, it will be clearly shown in red and will update the available delivery dates. For example, if an item has a 24-hour lead time, your order won’t qualify for Same Day or Next Day delivery.

How far in advance can I order?

You can schedule deliveries up to 90 days ahead. That means you can plan for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions well in advance. Available delivery dates and services will depend on your basket and location.

How is my order prepared?

Every order is handled by two specialists:
The Picker collects items from chilled, frozen, or ambient storage. The Packer checks quality, verifies the order, and ensures everything is correctly categorised.
Items are then packed according to temperature type:
  • Frozen
  • Chilled
  • Ambient
This ensures everything stays in perfect condition in transit.

Do you use eco-friendly packaging?

Yes — and we’re actively improving it.
  • Frozen items: insulated poly boxes (currently being replaced where possible), recyclable ice packs, and dry ice
  • Chilled items: recyclable insulated paper and gel packs
  • Ambient items: minimal packaging, with protective paper or bubble wrap where needed
We also recycle all supplier packaging and continue to reduce plastic use wherever possible.

How long does packing take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the order:
  • Small ambient orders: ~1–2 minutes
  • 5+ mixed items: 8–10 minutes
  • 10+ items: 15–20 minutes
  • 15+ items: 20–30 minutes
Average packing time: 16 minutesEvery order is checked thoroughly to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Fun facts

  • 90% of plastics replaced with paper since 2009
  • 266 km of recyclable tape used annually
  • 75% reduction in polystyrene since 2022
  • 97% of deliveries arrive in perfect condition
  • Less than 1% of deliveries are late
  • 72%+ of orders ship without poly boxes
