Cod Cheeks, Frozen, +/-500g

Cod cheeks truly are an intriguing and worth-while ingredient. Previously considered as forgotten cuts of meat from the fish, they are now used frequently in chef's kitchens and are becoming ever more popular in home cooking. These lovely medallions may be small but are very tasty and do not require much preparation. Cod cheeks arejuicy and sweet in flavour, and are often described as being even meatier than fillets of cod.

Cod cheeks are very versatile and can be used in various recipes as the staple ingredient as a complement to other cuts of fish or meat.  Try pan-frying them in butter with shallots and garlic as a delicious dinner party starter!
