Ossau cheese is a semi-hard, pasteurised cheese from the south-west of France, near the Spanish border. This AOC status cheese has been one of the region’s main sources of income for hundreds of years. Made from Pyrenees sheep’s milk, this delicious cheese is creamy and buttery in texture, with a fruity, sometimes described as having a floral, nutty flavour. It is sometimes known as the ‘farmer’s dessert’ due to its’ sweet and buttery.
