Victoria plums are a popular variety of the plum family, that were initially found to grow in England in the 1840’s. Victoria plum trees are found in gardens all over the country; the fruit’s skin is mottled purple and red, with a green and yellow flesh. When the plums are cooked, the colour changes to an orange or pink colour. Victoria plums are fantastic to eat as they are, when ripened and fallen off the tree, however also work amazingly well when stewed to make crumbles, jams, or even in sauces to accompany savoury dishes.
