Wagyu Picanha & Rump Cap
Wagyu picanha, also known as rump cap, is prized for its rich flavour and distinctive fat cap. It works especially well cooked whole and sliced, or portioned into steaks for grilling.
The current collection includes both a Wagyu Rump Cap Picanha and a smaller Wagyu Rump Steak Picanha, giving you options for sharing or individual portions. Fine Food Specialist

How to Cook Wagyu Rump
Wagyu rump is best cooked over high heat and rested well before slicing.
Bring the steak towards room temperature, season simply with sea salt and black pepper, then sear in a very hot pan or cook over a hot BBQ. Turn as needed to build an even crust, then rest before slicing against the grain for the best texture. Fine Food Specialist
For BBQ cooking, serve with grilled vegetables, chimichurri or a fresh herb sauce to balance the richness of the beef.
What to Serve with Wagyu Rump
Wagyu rump pairs well with:
- roast or crispy potatoes
- seasonal greens
- grilled vegetables
- fresh salads
- chimichurri
- red wine jus
- peppercorn sauce
Because rump has a strong beefy flavour, you can use slightly bolder accompaniments than you might with very highly marbled A5 Wagyu.
