Autumn Black Truffle, (Tuber Uncinatum), Fresh
Black autumn truffles have a delicate aroma and taste with warm hints of hazelnut. The exterior varies in colour from light to dark brown and the outside is textured. Black truffles have a longer shelf life than white truffles, and keep well for around two weeks after being foraged. Read our guide to truffles here for guidance on storing.

How to clean and keep fresh truffles
The truffles we deliver are so fresh, they may still have a fine covering of soil or sand from when they were first unearthed. Washing them under a cold tap for a few seconds, then drying them gently, won’t affect the truffle’s flavour.
We advise to consume our fresh truffles within 3 days of receiving.
Once they have been gently cleaned, wrap each truffle individually in a fresh sheet of kitchen paper towel. Place the wrapped truffles in a clean, airtight plastic or glass container, such as a flip-top jar with a tight seal.
Change the paper towel every morning and re-wrap the truffles. Put them back in their container and refrigerate, repeating the process until you are ready to use them.
We suggest keeping fresh truffles in the coolest part of the fridge, ideally at 1 to 2°C, but be careful not to freeze them!
