These mini Jersey Royal potatoes are great vegetables to try when in season. Despite their small size, they are utterly delicious and look stunning in salads!
Jersey Royals are only authentic if they are grown in the traditional way on the Channel Island of Jersey. In November, the fields are covered with a blanket of seaweed which gives nutrients to the soil and helps protect them against pests. In a season in April, May and June, Jersey Royals have a firm waxy texture and a sweet, nutty and earthy flavour. The love, care and attention that goes into growing these beauties certainly show when you sink your teeth into them. Deliciously served crushed with olive oil, chives, and black pepper. They are fantastic served warm this way with sea bass.
Due to the nature of the product, the size of the potatoes do vary in size – they could be pea-sized, like these, or mid-sized.
Please note: Due to the nature of the product, the size of the potatoes does vary in size - they could be pea-sized, or regular baby potato size (as you can see in the photos).
