Snake fruits are native to Indonesia and South East Asia, often sold on the streets of Bangkok and Bali as a snack during when they are in season. It is also tradition to dip the fruit, once peeled, in salt or sugar when it is sold on the streets of Bangkok. The beautiful texture on the outside of the fruit is snake-like and almost prickly like a cactus. Inside, the flesh of the fruit is juicy and incredibly sweet, with a slightly tangy undertone, similar in flavour to a pineapple.
