Fresh Cod

Fresh Cod

Most definitely a British favourite, cod is a flaky white fish with a succulent texture and subtle flavour when cooked. It has been traditionally used as the fish of choice for the classic English fish and chips.

Cod is popular because of its versatility: steamed, battered, pan-fried, roasted, baked cod, there are endless cod fish recipes.

There are many ways to prepare it. You can make it a curry, use it as the centerpiece of your homemade fish & chips, or cook it in a tomato sauce.

It doesn't matter how good your cooking skills are, as cooking cod is very easy to prepare and can be one of the best starters for a fish lover.

Considered a delicacy in many countries, black cod is most popular marinated in miso, inspired by the world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa. You can find the recipe to make it at home in Drogo's Kitchen, or buy it ready-to-eat.

We also sell fresh cod cheeks. Despite the fact that many have forgotten this special ingredient, it is a very special cut of fish meat. Chefs are now using them frequently in their kitchens. Their small size does not detract from their taste or ease of preparation.

Cod cheeks are juicy and sweet in flavour, and are often described as being even meatier than cod fillets.

Our cod steaks are generous in size and come with the skin on and boneless - great for adding flavour to pan-fried cod dishes.

Fine Food Specialist has a fantastic selection of fresh fish. Head to our Seafood & Shellfish section to discover more online seafood options, such as our frozen fish selection.
