Girolle mushrooms are wild mushrooms, celebrated for their vibrant golden colour and distinctive trumpet shape. Their flavour is deeply earthy with a mild peppery kick, complemented by subtle apricot-like notes that add a delicate sweetness. The texture is firm yet tender, offering a slight chewiness that holds up well to various cooking methods. Whether sautéed, roasted or added to rich sauces, these mushrooms bring depth and complexity to any dish.

Cooking Suggestions: How to Cook Girolle Mushrooms

  • Sauté: Cook in a hot pan with butter or olive oil until tender and lightly golden.
  • Roast: Spread on a baking tray, drizzle with oil and roast at 180°C (350°F) for 10-15 minutes.
  • Grill: Skewer and grill for a smoky, charred edge.
  • Simmer: Add to broths, soups or creamy sauces for extra richness.

Serving Suggestions: What to Pair Girolles With

  • Herbs: Butter, garlic and fresh herbs like thyme or parsley
  • Sauces: Creamy sauces or light broths to enhance their earthy tones

Please note: These mushrooms are a wild product and, as such, sometimes arrive covered in a little dirt. This is harmless and can be cleaned off using a soft mushroom brush.
