A rum baba is a small yeast cake which has been soaked in a sticky hard liquor, usually rum. They are very morish and you will be left wanting more! The smaller sized babas like these, are cooked in individual moulds that creates their unique round cone shape.

The babas are also sometimes filled with whipped cream and other sweet flavours, and alternatively cooked as a larger cake in a Bundt tin.

The original rum baba is typically eaten cold, with whipped chantilly cream. The traditional baba originated in France, but in the 20th century became popular in Naples, Italy.

These rum babas have been handmade in  Naples and are ready to eat once defrosted - the individual portions of the cake are perfect for a hassle-free dessert at the end of an Italian meal!
