British Soft Cheese

British Soft Cheese

Discover our collection of British soft cheeses. Because Britain shouldn't be only known for its Stilton or Cheddar, our cheesemakers also work hard to create this exceptional soft cheese selection made in the UK.

At Fine Food Specialist, we have assembled an extensive range of exceptional British soft cheeses, passionately made by small independent, award-winning cheesemakers.

Made using milk from grass-fed cows and goats.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF BRITISH SOFT CHEESES

Lord London was served at the Royal Wedding Breakfast of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, this spectacular cheese was awarded Gold Award for the Best Soft Cheese and given the status of the Best Soft Cheese in Great Britain at the British Cheese Awards. This curvaceous brie-like cheese is made just a short journey from the capital in East Sussex.

Baron Bigod cheese is Britain’s first unpasteurised Brie to be made. It is not sharp or salty like some Bries can be, which is crucial because, unlike Camembert, the flavours are so much more subtle and can easily be overpowered.

Our ash-coated goat cheeses, such as Tor or Driftwood, are likely to remind you of the classic Valencay. Both made in the heart of the Westcountry and from goat's cheese, Tor is creamy and has a distinct lemony flavour. The smooth texture of Driftwood earned the Silver Medal in the 2019 World Cheese Awards.

Looking for a slice of soft blue cheese, a British take on Roquefort, or Gorgonzola? Don't look further, our Barkham Blue cheese, with its relatively mellow colour and peppery tang to the blue and rind, will delight all blue cheese lovers out there. Thanks to its creaminess and its hypnotic blue veins, this cheese won the Gold medal at the 2018 British Cheese Awards.

Indulge yourself with an even wider selection of English cheese with our cheese Hampers & Gifts, where you can find for example this Ultimate Truffle Cheese Board.

Have a look at the rest of the range. We also have an extensive range of Italian and French soft cheeses, as well as truffle cheeses, and classic hard cheeses from the UK such as Cornish Yarg cheese.
