Porcini mushrooms are a delight in the seasonal vegetable calendar. Also called ceps, and often referred to as the ‘king of mushrooms’, as they are meaty in their texture and have an unami flavour, making them very versatile.

One of our favourite ways to cook with porcini is to simply fry then in a little butter, thyme and a generous drizzle of the finest truffle oil to bring out the earthy flavour. Alternatively, they are a delicious mushroom to gently fry and incorporate into wintery pasta dishes.

Availability: June-December

These mushrooms are a wild product and, as such, sometimes arrive covered in a little dirt. This is harmless and can be cleaned off using a soft mushroom brush. 

Please note porcini will arrive sliced in half to ensure that they are of top quality.
