Description

These quail birds come already spatchcocked to make this super speedy and will cook in no time! We've marinated them in honey and five spice for a delicious, punchy twist. The spatchcock ensures that the meat remains tender and succulent too.

This is a great recipe to pull out for a casual BBQ session in the sun when you're craving something a bit different to the usual burgers and typical barbecue fare. We also have a few other spatchcock birds that you could use in place of the quail if you need a more substantial option, such as our spatchcocked chicken and poussin

  • 4 quail
  • 2 teaspoons five spice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  1. Combine the five spice, honey and lime juice with some salt and rub all over the quails. Set aside for 20 minutes.
  2. Light the barbecue for direct cooking. Cook the quail for around 5 minutes each side and serve immediately.
