The Essence of Authenticity
Jersey Royals are only genuine if they are cultivated traditionally on the sun-kissed shores of Jersey. Each November, the fields are covered with a blanket of seaweed which gives nutrients to the soil and helps protect them against pests. In a season in April, May and June, Jersey Royals have a firm waxy texture and a sweet, nutty and earthy flavour.
Cooking Suggestions: How To Cook Medium Jersey Royals
Start by gently scrubbing the potatoes to remove any dirt, then place them in a pot of salted boiling water. Allow them to simmer until tender but still firm, typically around 15-20 minutes. Once cooked, drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly before serving.
