Organically grown Matcha tea has numerous health benefits, fundamentally due to its high number of anti-oxidants. The tea is produced in a remote area, before the leaves are covered with bamboo leaves for the final few weeks in order for them to fill with chlorphyll, which is enriched with amino acids.
Cermeonial grade Matcha is the highest grade available; using only the finest leaves from the very tip of the bush resulting in a vibrant green coloured leaf full of goodness and boasting a subtley sweet flavour. This grade is ground in a stone mortar for several hours, resulting in a smooth full-bodied taste.
Matcha tea has proven to improve vitality and boost energy levels, and has been a traditional drink for Buddhist months for thousands of years, keeping them alert and focussed during long hours of meditation. Matcha tea can be added to lattes, smoothies and baking, but is equally satisfying enjoyed with some hot water as a morning coffee replacement.
