One of the milder and more moist blue cheeses, but still with a substantial flavour kick to get your tastebuds tingling, bleu d'Auvergne is a fantastic Christmas cheese. Buttery and not overly salty, it goes very well with red and sweet wines, so perfect for kicking back with on winter evenings with a glass of the best. Thanks to its soft texture, it's also a great kitchen cheese.
Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc are wines to consider purchasing alongside this cheese, as well as full-bodied, fruity, not-too-dry reds. Alternatively, use it to make a luscious pear, walnut and blue cheese salad, or stir into hot pasta for a gooey, savoury treat.
